115 Central Park West

This project, at 115 Central Park West in Manhattan, consisted of joining two adjacent apartments to create a new home for a banker and his young family. In an effort to seamlessly join the two units, a single entry was created leading onto a new lounge area whose formal iconography recalls the streamilined deco woodwork of the historic building lobby below. The lounge is a space of overlapping uses that blend and unify the joined apartments. It is an eatery, a wine bar, a laundry area, and a desk. It is the nexus of the family - a bridge between generations.
